Morphicon 2005 For a second year in a row, Morphicon chose to partner with the Animal Adoption Foundation (http://www.aafpets.org/) as our charity recipient for 2005. Charity proceeds gathered from the raffle, the charity silent art auction, and the pet store game went to benefit needy animals in the Ohio community. Established in 1977, The Animal Adoption Foundation is a Southwestern Ohio-area non-profit no-kill shelter for dogs and cats that have been abused or abandoned. AAF provides a safe and humane environment for dogs and cats that are waiting to be adopted. AAF's caring volunteers and generous, loving donors enable them to provide a safe and happy haven for our special friends. The shelter currently houses approximately 60 cats and dogs. Through an amazing amount of generous donations, our charity efforts this year raised $844 for the AAF. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the people who donated art and goods to our art show, including: Keeshah, Bear, Harmless Gryphon, Nikon, The Dragon Girl, Michael Sherman, Mephit FurMeet (courtesy Tyger Cowboy), Karin, Morphicon Corporation, Dripdry, P_Moss Fox, Pelzig, Trickster, and anyone else we may have missed at the last moment. Also to Aloha, who donated one of his FVS props to the raffle--and promptly won it back. Apparently, there are some things you just can't get rid of. (Additional thanks to Mephit FurMeet for sponsoring our Masquerade awards this year.) We also thank the dozen or so fursuiters and others who donated a dance in the Pet Store event to help save the animals. Thanks everyone! You're the heart and soul of our community efforts and AAF is very grateful for your continued support. |
